Board of Selectmen unlikely to propose a budget that fully meets the 4% cap

Selectman John Morin advised the Budget Committee that in his opinion the Board of Selectmen will likely present to the Budget Committee a proposed budget that does not meet the 4% cap. The Selectmen are likely to only cut about half of what is required, and these are likely to come from social services.

Several members of the committee discussed how it was likely that the Budget Committee’s hard work to devise a budget that came in under the 4% cap would be overturned from the floor at the town’s deliberative session.
