The registration period for having one’s name put on the March 11 ballot for town office ended on Friday, January 31. The following candidates will appear on the ballot. Everyone should be grateful that these candidates have stepped forward to volunteer their services to the town. The town could not run without volunteers such as these.
Only one office is being contested:
Board of Selectmen - 1 position for 3-year terms
Charlotte Fyfe
Adam Ryan
Two offices have insufficient candidates. The town needs some write-in candidates for these.
Budget Committee - 3 positions for 3-year terms
James Stevens
Karyn Quinn
Note that Charlotte Fyfe is elected as a Selectman she will have to resign her seat on the Budget Committee. In that case the committee will appoint a replacement. Historically when the committee must appoint a member, it gives consideration to candidates who ran but were not elected.
Zoning Board of Adjustment - 2 positions for 3-year terms
Gary Anderson
All of the other positions have the same number of candidates as open positions. They will be running unopposed unless write-in campaigns arise.
Planning Board
2 positions for 3-year terms
Daniel Arsenault
Adam Ryan
1 position for a 1-year term
Glen Griswold
Library Trustees - 2 positions for 3-year terms
Jennifer Phillips
M. Kate Knight-Dupuis
Cemetery Trustee - 1 position for a 3-year term
Peter Corriveau
Trustee of the Trust Funds - 1 position for a 3-year term
Denise Blaha
School Board - 1 position for a 3-year term
Kamee Verdrager Leshner
School District Clerk - 1 position for a 2-year term
Carolyn Grimes
Here, here Doug--you are absolutely correct and this is worth repeating: Everyone should be grateful that these candidates have stepped forward to volunteer their services to the town. The town could not run without volunteers such as these
