K9 CRUE ENDS SEARCH FOR DANGEROUS SUSPECT FOLLOWING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESTRAINING ORDER VIOLATION
On 12/28/2025 at approximately 2100 hours, Corporal Alvarez of the Nottingham Police Department requested the assistance of K9 Crue and Officer Capsalis. Corporal Alvarez had a lead that the suspect, Joshua Ward, was at a property on Gerrish Drive in Nottingham, New Hampshire. Earlier that day Ward had violated a Domestic Violence Restraining Order at the same property and fled using a bicycle upon police arrival. Earlier in the day, officers found an alarming amount of possible explosives in Ward’s possession. Due to the nature of the crimes committed and Ward’s history of fleeing, Corporal Alvarez requested K9 Crue and Officer Capsalis to help locate and apprehend Ward.
After arriving at the residence, K9 Crue and Officer Capsalis conducted and area search with no findings. K9 Crue also searched the primary residence as well as a multi-stable barn with negative contact. A final three stall garage was located. Officers on scene tried to enter and were met with locked doors. A window was broken to gain access and K9 Crue was sent in to search for Ward. After searching a cluttered area, K9 Crue found and apprehended Ward who was hiding under 3 tarps and a four wheeler.
Ward was transported to Exeter Hospital to tend to the bite injury as a result of K9 Crue’s apprehension. Ward was charged with Violation of a Restraining Order, Criminal Threatening, and Resisting Arrest. Ward is being held at the Rockingham County Jail until his arraignment. K9 Crue sustained minor injuries during his altercation and was transported to the Brentwood Emergency Vet. K9 Crue left with a few stitches and his head held high. He is currently recovering at home with his partner Officer Capsalis.
