Another point about the GOP mailer...they claim the amendment to School Article 10 "was done by a small group of tax-and-spend advocates, including candidates..." and then go on to name candidates they presumably hope to damage with this accusation (at least one of whom I am told didn't even vote for it). This claim is 100% false and demonstrates how willing they are to lie to voters.
How do I know? I'm the citizen who made the amendment to School Article 10 and not only had I never met or spoken to any of the candidates listed in the mailer prior to the Deliberative Session, I didn't even know I was going to make the amendment until I was sitting in the room that night.
It is pretty outrageous to state this accusation as "fact", print and mail it, when it has zero factual basis, in an effort to influence voters. That the mailer "calls out" a statement that is an absolute fabrication is shocking to me. Are they always this reckless with the truth? What other "facts" do they fabricate to influence voters?
