Fire Station Left Unstaffed for New Years' Weekend
On Friday, December 29 it was reported that Captain Pedersen of Nottingham Fire & Rescue emailed staff saying,
Open response is appreciated for the next three days as station is unmanned until Monday 1/1/24 at 0700
In 2022 the voters were told that if they voted for warrant article #5 to add full-time staff to the department, the fire station would be staffed 24/7, which would substantially reduce response times, from 25 minutes when the station is unstaffed, to 8 minutes when it is staffed.
We have no idea why it's unstaffed for the weekend. People could be out sick or have an unplanned family situation. This was a call to the entire crew to ask for people to man the station. For all we know, it's staffed as I write this.
