We have no idea why it's unstaffed for the weekend. People could be out sick or have an unplanned family situation. This was a call to the entire crew to ask for people to man the station. For all we know, it's staffed as I write this.

According to what was said at last night's FD meeting, it looks like the problem was lack of staffing. Two members left right before New Years, and one new hire that was expected to be onboarded could not start because of an injury.

Or it could be that there is no staff to cover these shifts?

Could be, of course, but let's not speculate until we know for sure. Unless of course you'd like to further damage the morale at the FD.

Hmmm your comment was pure speculation. Pretty sure they’re short staffed due to people leaving the department. This information should be available to the taxpayers. This is the first I heard of ‘morale’ issues over there, care to elaborate?

I have no first hand knowledge of the FD, but can only speculate that that after the last year. they're due some support.

No doubt the volunteers that have kept our community safe and cared for deserve support.

I couldn't agree more. The paid people deserve support as well. This past year couldn't have been easy on any of them.

I agree with Susan Jackson-Rafter. If I could find evidence of corruption on the part of the BOS, I'd publish it. I haven't been able to find it.

With regard to corruption charges, I'm with Cicero in that I think the first question should be "cui bono" - who benefits? It's hard to see how the BOS benefits from what has happened, and it's easier to see how the BOS has been harmed. Tyler Eaton may have been wise to resign when he did. When former BOS member Donna Danis offered to fill the vacancy, she appeared to receive little if any support.

Okay. I can see that you're willing to believe the BOS is corrupt and I'm not. I'm also not willing to believe the Vilchocks were poor leaders and deserved firing as I don't work with them. Neither of us knows what really went on at the fire station. It's all just your opinion and mine at this point. Have a good night.
