I don’t know him but I like the sound of the way Mr. Carpenter approaches these things. Maybe too bad he’s no longer involved in our town’s governance! I appreciate his input and you sharing it.

Wow! A letter from over a decade ago! That's all they had in writing, a letter from a TA who had communication problems.

He expressed concern because Chief thought just looking at certifications and not real world experience should be considered? As a licensed professional I can attest that just because someone acquired said certification does not mean the person is competent in application of that knowledge. The reat about the phone and checking email....he was a working father/family man who VOLUNTEERED a significant part of his life to the department for little compensation.

Until now, I have never feared lack of emergency medical response since before 911 was a thing here in Nottingham. In an out of hospital heart attack, minutes can make a difference. Curious what the response times are now and how many more calls for mutual aid have occurred since this debacle started.

My heart goes out to Chief and Lt Vilchock who have tirelessly served this town for so long, often at the expense of personal pleasures. (I know Sandra could not attend a few gatherings because duty came first)

I see the Board is having a workshop to discuss personnel issues/policies. Good move. It's a start to turn things around. I think a good place to start would be searching for new legal counsel since they haven't really done anything about the Town Beach issue since Feb...

because of this case? Really they couldn't provide services on more than one issue at a time?

A month or so ago I made a comment about getting a different law office to use for the town. Someone indicated we should investigate first. Whole that might be prudent and fair I think the current attorney's track record speaks for itself. So yeah, they have to go.

As Mr. Carpenter pointed out communication is subject to our human mistakes. Email and text removes so much context and meaning. We all have very busy lives and technology gives us a means to make the most of our time. This may seem a little absurd but why don't we make face to face communication compulsory for things like this. I know from personal experience this can give you a greater perspective.

It has become too easy to dismiss other people and view points.

I find it intriguing that a letter from 12 years ago, amazingly surfaced to show:

1. A failure to communicate,

2. Suspected chaos, and

3. An address that does not include the Chief.

Mr. Carpenter's accounting of the situation seems pretty accurate since there was no festering of relations at that time, certainly did not reach the level of the present issue. Situation resolved! Isn't that the goal of government?

I also believe this letter was not in the Chief's personnel folder! This was dragged out of the archives in the BOS files, probably by a very knowledgeable person still trying to "save" the BOS.

Doug, another excellent job.

Hi Skip, this letter was delivered in a non public session and the minutes were sealed. I think there must be an RSA covering how and when such a document, covered by sealed minutes, can be unsealed. I think it productive to learn how it became public and if any laws were broken. Thanks, Mark

Upton and Hatfield need to go.

Every selectman responsible for what happened to the Chief needs to go.

The selectmen who were in on this but no longer on the board need to be held accountable for their actions.

Every TA involved needs to be held accountable and the current TA should resign.

This is a complete disaster for Nottingham with no end in sight.

Funny how quickly this RTK request was fulfilled…

I suspect MRI would love to get a contract from the town to recruit a new TA and to provide an interim TA until the position is filled.
